Itinerary
Arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport, where you will be greeted by our professional guide. You will then be transferred to Arusha City for dinner and overnight stay at a hotel (client’s own arrangement).
After breakfast, depart from Arusha city for Tarangire National Park. The journey will take approximately 2:30 hours on a well-maintained tarmac road. However, the stunning Maasai Steppes offer picturesque views, making the drive an experience in itself.
Once at the park, enjoy lunch at a local hotel in the area, followed by an afternoon game drive in Tarangire National Park. The park is renowned for its large population of African elephants, particularly the bulls, which number over 2,500. Giant baobab trees, some of which are over 300 years old, line the park, creating a majestic backdrop.
Besides elephants, you’ll have the chance to spot predators like lions, leopards, and cheetahs, as well as Cape buffalo, giraffes, zebras, gnus, antelopes, and over 400 species of birds.
Overnight in a public camp inside the park, with all meals included (F/B).
The Palace of Fifty five Windows: This magnificent palace was built during the reign of King Yakshya Malla in A.D. 1427 and was subsequently remodeled by King Bhupatindra Malla in the seventeenth century. Among the brick walls with their gracious setting and sculptural design, is a balcony with Fifty five Windows, considered to be a unique masterpiece of woodcarving.
After breakfast, drive to Lake Manyara National Park with a picnic lunch on the way. This small park (330 sq km) is unique, located in the Eastern Rift Valley and famed for its tree-climbing lions, depending on weather conditions. The park also boasts a variety of birdlife, including flamingos and waterfowl that flock to the lake.
Expect to see elephants, giraffes, hippos, monkeys, baboons, and colorful birds during your visit.
In the late afternoon, drive to Karatu town for dinner and overnight at Tanzanic Farm. (F/B)
After breakfast, embark on a drive to Serengeti National Park via the Ngorongoro Crater Rim, with a picnic lunch en route.
Optional: Visit Olduvai Gorge, the famous archaeological site where Dr. Louis Leakey made significant discoveries of early hominid fossils in the 1950s.
Serengeti National Park is renowned for its vast plains, spanning 14,760 square kilometers. It's one of the best places to witness the Great Migration of over 2 million wildebeest and 800,000 zebras, often followed by predators such as lions, leopards, and cheetahs.
You will also find herds of gazelles, pools of hippos, and Nile crocodiles.
Overnight at a public camp inside the park. (F/B)
Spend four full days exploring the Serengeti, with morning and afternoon game drives. The park’s diverse ecosystems, from grasslands to riverine forests, provide exceptional wildlife viewing opportunities.
Optional activity: Hot air balloon ride over the Serengeti for a bird's-eye view of the vast plains and migrating herds.
Meals and overnight stay at the public camp inside the park. (F/B)
After breakfast, drive to Ngorongoro Crater, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. En route, enjoy a game drive through the plains, where you may encounter some of the big cats and other wildlife.
Dinner and overnight at the Rhino Lodge, located on the rim of the crater. (F/B)
After breakfast, descend into the Ngorongoro Crater for a full-day game drive. The crater is the largest inactive volcanic caldera in the world, spanning 260 square kilometers and home to over 25,000 animals.
Expect to see the Big Five: lions, elephants, leopards, buffaloes, and rhinoceros, as well as other species like cheetahs, hyenas, flamingos, and various antelopes.
Overnight at Rhino Lodge again. (F/B)
Wake up early for a morning coffee or tea before departing for Lake Eyasi to meet the Hadzabe tribe, known for their click-speaking language. These indigenous people still hunt and gather using traditional methods, much like the bushmen of the Kalahari Desert.
You will have the unique opportunity to accompany the men on a hunting expedition, using bows and arrows. While large animals like elephants and buffaloes are avoided, the tribe often hunts smaller animals like birds, mongooses, or squirrels. After the hunt, they will demonstrate their traditional dance and teach you how to use the bow and arrow.
Enjoy a bush breakfast, followed by a visit to the Datoga tribe, who are skilled blacksmiths. The Datoga still make tools, spears, and jewelry using metal, copper, and aluminum, passed down from their nomadic ancestors.
Lunch at the bush camp or Kisima Ngeda before returning to your lodge for some leisure time. (F/B)
After breakfast, head back to the Hadzabe tribe for a final early morning hunting and gathering experience. Then, drive back to Karatu for dinner and overnight at the Tanzanic Farm. (F/B)
After breakfast, transfer to Kilimanjaro International Airport or back to Arusha for some last-minute shopping and lunch en route. You will be dropped off at the airport for your departure flight, bringing an end to your unforgettable safari adventure. (F/B)
