Lake Eyasi

Lake Eyasi is a shallow, endorheic (closed basin) salt lake in northern Tanzania, located on the floor of the Great Rift Valley. It lies at the base of the Eyasi escarpment, just southwest of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Although it’s not as famous as Serengeti or Ngorongoro, it’s an incredible destination for travelers looking to immerse themselves in the traditional ways of life of some of Tanzania’s last indigenous tribes. The lake forms part of the Eyasi-Wembere branch of the Rift Valley system.
